Our 300th Anniversary

It’s hard to believe our church is 300 years old! Established in 1725, Salem Hellers Church began 51 years before the United States was founded, and before the city of Lancaster was established.  A special committee was formed in June of 2023 to plan events and activities for this incredibly special anniversary year. The committee chose the theme, Celebrating 300 Years of God’s Faithfulness. The main focus of the celebrations is glorifying God for His unfailing faithfulness to Salem Hellers in the past, present, and, we anticipate, the future.

Our celebrations began in November 2024 with an Anniversary Kick Off Banquet for church members and regular attenders. A commemorative prayer journal, thoughtfully assembled by a committee member and including fascinating historical details, was provided to all members.  In August of 2025, the church enjoyed a picnic celebration together. In October 2025 a lovely and meaningful Service of Thanksgiving was held, including special music, a message from a former pastor, congregational hymns, and beautiful anthems by our sanctuary choir, joined by guest singers. The service was followed by an amazing dessert reception in a beautifully decorated Cowan Hall for church members, attenders and special guests.

2025 has been a memorable year for our church family as we celebrated God’s faithfulness through 300 years!
